Security & Approvals
DeFiMara never holds your keys. Every transaction is prepared for you and signed in your own wallet. Learn how sign-in, approvals and gas reserves work.
Updated October 13, 2026
DeFiMara is non-custodial. Your keys stay in your wallet, and nothing moves on-chain unless you sign it there. Mara prepares transactions; you decide whether to approve them.
🔑Your keys stay with youWe never see or store private keys or seed phrases
✍️You sign every moveEach swap, deposit or bridge needs your wallet approval
🧾Clear summariesAmounts, fees and the protocol are shown before you sign
• Signing In
When you connect, your wallet asks you to sign a login message. This proves you own the address. It is free, sends no transaction and grants no spending rights. DeFiMara stores your public address so your account and preferences follow you.
• Approving Transactions
1
Mara prepares the action
She checks your balance, gets a route or quote, and builds the transaction.
2
You review it
The app shows what you send, what you should receive, fees and the protocol involved.
3
Your wallet asks for confirmation
MetaMask or Phantom shows the transaction. Reject it and nothing happens.
4
Token approvals when needed
Some ERC-20 actions first need an approval so the protocol can move that token. Your wallet shows it as a separate step.
• Good Practice
Always read the wallet prompt — check the amount, token and network
Keep some native coin for gas (DeFiMara keeps a small reserve when you use MAX)
Only deposit into protocols you are comfortable with; DeFi protocols can be exploited
For bots and agents, use a dedicated wallet with limited funds
